Semis Have Gone 200,000 Miles Without an Oil Change

Danny Howell, Director of Maintenance for Dallas Carriers Corp. in Rockwell, Texas, conducted a demonstration in which semis were installed bumper-to-bumper with AMSOIL LUBRICANTS. AMSOIL 15W-40 Diesel Engine Oil was used in the engines, and AMSOIL Synthetic 85W-140 Gear Lube was installed in the transmissions, rear ends and the power train. Periodic oil analysis determined AMSOIL15W-40 was serviceable after 200,000 miles and the engines had minimal wear. AMSOIL 85W-140 was also still serviceable in the transmissions after 200,000 miles. On September 26, 1988, Ron Krol of Garfield Heights, Ohio used AMSOIL SYNTHETIC OIL at the ATCO race track in New Jersey to accomplish the unimaginable: he raced his naturally-aspirated (carbureted) 1100cc 16-valve Suzuki drag bike in the funny bike class. This class usually uses turbo-chargers and nitrous oxide Fuel!Ron and his AMSOIL-ized motorcycle didn't win at ATCO, their first ever national drag bike event (although he did make it to the semifinals). What Ron did do was set a new world record for carbureted motorcycles - 7.38 seconds elapsed time average quarter mile course! That's 180 + mph! Prototype of Perkins M-2 Uses AMSOIL

It's been 17 years since the valve cover was taken off, and all this time I uchanging the oil and filter once each year. I'm not sure of the hours involved: I estimate 60 to 80 hours per year with field mowing in the summer and snowplowing in the winter.When we opened the engine a few weeks ago and saw how clean it was, I thought I should leave it open and just show folks, but then I would need another tractor! I couldn't justify another "toy."

Dennis was amazed that on his John Deer Irrigation engine (normal oil change every 100 hours) he was able to extend his oil change beyond 600 hours with AMSOIL AME15W-40 and AMSOIL By-Pass Filters.
